Members joined us for a special IVY Culture Night at the Olympia Theater for a screening of the short film, Traveling Lady, followed by a discussion with the film’s producer Jessica Mitrani and its starring actress and fashion icon, Rossy De Palma! Described as a Picasso come-to-life, Rossy De Palma is best known for breaking the rules of beauty when she starred in Pedro Almodóvar’s Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and became a model and muse for designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, and Sybilla. As part of the Miami Film Festival Presents: An Evening with Rossy De Palma, Jessica Mitrani led us in a fascinating conversation with Rossy about her vibrant film career and her work in the Traveling Lady project, a daring exploration into the pioneering spirit of Nellie Bly, the 19th-century American journalist known for her record-breaking 72-day trip around the world. Following the discussion, we headed to an after-party on the rooftop of the Suntrust Building to enjoy a live flamenco performance and an evening of dancing, savory bites, and wine with a great group of IVY members!
