Members joined us for a special IVY Thought Leader Brunch & Discussion on The Future of Healthy Living: How to Eat, Cook, & Grow Towards a Healthier and Happier Life, featuring environmental activist, author, and eco-model, Summer Rayne Oakes! Summer designs and works on creative solutions to some of our greatest environmental challenges, striving to bring sustainable-thinking practices into our everyday life — from what we wear to what we eat. With her latest cookbook, Sugardetoxme, she has turned her attention to helping humans eat less sugar and more healthy vegetables. She and her work have been featured in a range of media outlets worldwide, including CNN, The New York Times, The Guardian, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Forbes, and many others.
This one-of-a-kind discussion took place on the beautiful garden patio of Aurora in Williamsburg, where we enjoyed bloody marys upon arrival, a delicious three-course brunch, and mimosas throughout the day! Following the brunch, we had the opportunity to cross the street and tour Summer's apartment — a true garden oasis in Brooklyn adorned with over 500 plants! All members received a complimentary copy of Summer’s new book, Sugardetoxme: 100+ Recipes to Curb Cravings and Take Back Your Health.
